My Re-Analyzing of Peter Rabbit (2018)

I never really considered doing a review on a film twice. In fact, I'm not even sure if it's exactly what reviewers often do.

However, after seeing this movie again not too long ago, I found myself liking it more than the first time I watched and reviewed it.

Here's why:

I remember originally commenting that there were some gags that I wasn't entirely impressed with, notably the lip-reading moments and the deer and the headlights gag. However, I've been finding myself enjoying the film's comedy more than ever, even the gags that I mentioned which I wasn't fond of before. The only gags that I've been less than moved by were the gags with Pigling Bland and his eating habits, as to me, they were more obnoxious than funny.

In my original review, I commented that I wasn't really impressed with the performances outside of James Corden and Domhall Gleeson as Peter Rabbit and Thomas McGregor. After my latest look back on the movie, though, I found myself to be entertained by much of the other cast members too. I love how everyone was obviously having fun with portraying their characters, and how the characters themselves made every moment they were given enjoyable. The only exception, of course, comes from Pigling Bland's eating moments.

In the end, having enjoyed this movie more than before, I hereby upgrade my rating for "Peter Rabbit (2018)" from four out of five to 4 1/2 out of five.
