The Biggest Things that Currently Annoy Me Regarding Disney

Whenever Disney is often the subject of something, most people often complain about things like the company’s excessive creating of live-action remakes, incorporating political-correctness in their works, or how they’re handling some of the franchises they own. I can understand why they’d be the biggest subjects of complaint, of course.

For me, though…

There are some things regarding Disney that I’m currently more annoyed about than the other things I previously mentioned, and I figured it wouldn’t hurt to talk about them in a post.

Here’s what they are:

Among the things I’m currently annoyed about regarding Disney is the fact that they’re not giving many of their TV shows enough availability or access for viewers.

For instance, despite having not seen the series in full yet, the “Aladdin” TV show that took place between “The Return of Jafar” & “Aladdin and the King of Thieves” is something I’ve been wanting to watch for quite a while, but it’s neither available on Disney+, home video, or other streaming services! I’ve noted that the show was available to watch on various internet sites, but the thing is…I also want to see the show presented in excellent quality. In this case, without a Disney-based logo at the bottom or the pictures looking a little fuzzy.

Not only does the “Aladdin” TV show’s lack of availability grind my gears, but it’s something I find to be strange as well. Disney has released every “Aladdin” movie they made on both home video & Disney+, yet they haven’t done exactly that for the entire show of the same name, and that’s despite the cult following it gained over the years! Many people have even requested that the show be added on Disney+ ever since the service’s formation, but it still hasn’t been added!

What’s up with that?!

Unfortunately, the “Aladdin” TV show isn’t the only program that’s not being given enough availability either. The “Hercules” TV show was luckily among the ones available to watch on Disney+, and I was able to watch it back when my family & I had access to the service, but the entirety of it isn’t available on home video or other streaming platforms.

Another thing regarding Disney that’s gotten on my nerves over the years is that they haven’t made any deals with Amazon Prime & AppleTV to add Disney+ as a channel on those platforms. Paramount made deals with those platforms to do exactly that with Paramount+, so why can’t Disney do the same?

Disney+ being added as a channel on AppleTV is something I’d particularly like to see happen, because the service itself is directly connected to my iTunes account and is the only one I can actually spend my own money at. Plus, if Disney+ was added as a channel on both AppleTV & Amazon Prime, it would help the company’s Disney+ originals be given more streaming availability and access.

In addition to this, while I do understand that Disney hasn’t released very many of their Disney+ originals on home video as part of trying to bring in more subscribers, I personally think that it’d be of great benefit if they did exactly that at some point. One example I’d definitely like to mention is “TOGO: The Untold True Story”. Not only is that movie an amazing biographical-based feature, but there are many aspects regarding it that I believe would help attract interest in collecting the film on home video. Willem Dafoe’s involvement as Leonhard Seppala is definitely one of those aspects, that’s for sure.

In the end, the point I’m trying to make is that there are several money-making opportunities & potentials that Disney isn’t taking for some reason. Each of these things I mentioned would be perfect for helping the company continue to thrive financially and overcome whatever struggles they’re having in that department, yet they aren’t doing any of them.

A large part of me wants to straight up give Disney a phone call to propose these ideas I’ve mentioned here & see whether they’d like them, mainly on the grounds that “money-talks” opportunities tend to be what attracts businesses like them the most. The only reason I haven’t done so already is because I’ve felt uncertain over whether it’d actually work.

What do you guys think?
