I Have Some Big News to Share With You Guys

As many of you have probably noticed, I haven't been particularly active with reviewing this year. The latest review I created was on the "Knuckles" TV series, and that was back in February!

Well, here's the explanation why that is:

After I reviewed "Knuckles", I've been hard at work creating a new critique. The entertainment product I decided to analyze next is the 1st season of "The Wingfeather Saga", and I put giving a critique of other stuff on hold specifically to give more focus towards this one.

In regards to why I decided to review the entire Wingfeather show by season, the main reason is because of this:

Every season will be based on one of the original four Wingfeather books by Andrew Peterson. Some seasons will cover a whole book. Season 1 is adapted entirely from the first novel, "On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness". However, other seasons will be an adaption of just one part of a novel by Peterson. For instance, Seasons 2 covers the 1st half of the second book, "North! Or Be Eaten", while Season 3 covers the 2nd half of the story.

This is why I've decided to take an entirely different approach when analyzing the show. Season 1 will obviously be given its own individual review since it's based on Book #1. But, Seasons 2 & 3 will each be critiqued in one post since they're based on a half of Book #2, because reviewing the two seasons separately would complicate things. These critiques in question will be classified as "Miniseries Reviews", both because of the storytelling structure for each season & the show team's plans for adapting the novels.

However, there is one thing I'd like to confess regarding my time analyzing Season 1:

It took me longer than expected to actually complete the critique!

2025 proved to be an incredibly crazy year for me. There were family-based matters & events that required my attention, and I've been incredibly busy with my actual money-making job, so it was hard for me to focus on the review as much as I wanted. Whenever I did work on the review, I often came down with severe writer's block. I struggled with finding the right words to say for several things regarding Wingfeather's 1st season, which likely wasn't helped by how overexcited I'd become in thinking about the season & creating the review.

To remedy my writer's block struggles, I frequently rewrote things, often by changing stuff or writing something all over again. Other times, I consulted with my mother for help to work through things & figure out whatever would feel right. "The Wingfeather Saga" is a series that both my mother & I love, so whenever I had problems regarding the review that I couldn't work out myself, it really helped talking everything out with her.

Luckily, I've finally completed writing the review recently.

Before typing it up on my computer, though, I let my Mom look it over for input & editing purposes. Because I worked on the critique for nearly a year, I needed an outside eye to help make my review the very best it can be, and my mother was the only one I trusted on the matter. It was the first time in years I used this method when creating an analysis, and I’m honestly really thankful for the help my Mom gave with this one.

All this being said, I've made this post specifically to share with you all what's been going on, and prepare you guys for my upcoming review. Working on my analysis for “The Wingfeather Saga-Season 1” proved to be a challenging endeavor, and for me...it's an example of why I believe creating a critique requires tons of hardwork & preparation before sharing it with the world. Reviews are not only a form of expression, they're a work of art as well. They're definitely not as easy as most people would think, that's for sure.

So, stay tuned for my review of "The Wingfeather Saga-Season 1", you guys. I'm intending to complete typing it up sometime this week, although I can't guarantee what day it'll be ready for sharing.
