Cyberchase: Matt & Ms. Fileshare, Working Together
This picture was a little something I created myself quite a while ago, which is of two characters from PBS Kids’s “Cyberchase”. The characters in question are Matt and Ms. Fileshare, the latter who was featured in both “Raising the Bar” & “Be Reasonable” and was voiced by Jasmine Guy.
Take a look:
How I created the picture was by taking a screenshot of the moment featuring Matt, Inez, Jackie, & Ms. Fileshare as they’re talking on a monitor to Hacker disguised as a pest exterminator in “Raising the Bar”, then later used PhotoPea to create a vector out of it. I took out everything except for Matt, Ms. Fileshare, and the monitor, then later added dialogue bubbles I created myself for the two characters.
When it comes to why I created the picture, the intentions behind it were of a particularly creative sort:
Looking back on Ms. Fileshare’s appearances in the Cyberchase episodes “Raising the Bar” and “Be Reasonable”, I noted that she and the Cybersquad definitely shared a great friendship. However, out of all the members, it was Matt whom I thought she had the closest of bonds with. I can’t exactly explain it, but whenever I looked back on the interactions between Matt and Ms. Fileshare in all two episodes, it looked like they had a particularly powerful connection between each other. It made me wish that the show depicted more one-on-one time between Matt & Ms. Fileshare, and that they’d be alone together so that their bond could be explored more.
As I thought about it more, I later came up with my own idea of what a one-on-one venture between Matt and Ms. Fileshare would look like. The idea in general is that, after the rest of the Cybersquad, some important figures, and the rest of the Cybrary’s visitors are captured by a group of villains, Matt and Ms. Fileshare team-up to save the day since they’re miraculously the only ones who managed to avoid getting caught.
Nothing has been entirely set in motion yet. I don’t know what math-related subjects the two of them could solve, whether I want to use Hacker or someone else as the antagonist, or what the villains’ scheme could be. But one thing’s for certain, the bond & team-up between Matt & Ms. Fileshare is basically the heart and soul of the story, and the plot will give their connection a greater amount of exploration while also featuring their bond growing even more.
What do you guys think of the picture?
Also, if anyone has an idea for the things I haven’t figured out yet, as well as ideas for how the story could be all-the-more solid, please let me know in the comments. I’m open for suggestions.
