My Episode Review on iGo to Japan

This is your friendly film, TV show, and episode reporter here with another review.

Today, for my 30th episode analysis, I’m gonna give you guys my take of iCarly’s “iGo to Japan”.

Here’s the summary of it:

iCarly is enjoying the high life as one of the most popular web shows in the world, and Carly, Sam, and Freddie deeply relish the recognition and how much people enjoy their show.

Unexpectedly, iCarly is nominated by the iWeb Awards for best comedy, much to the amazement of the kids. But, in order to see if they’ll win or not and receive the award if they do, the trio must travel to Japan, with Carly’s brother, Spencer, and Freddie’s Mom to accompany them.

However, several hijinks and misadventures threaten the iCarly team from making it to the ceremony, and the tough competition they have isn’t making things any better.

Will Carly, Sam, Freddie, Spencer, and Freddie’s Mom make it to the ceremony and win the award? Or will they be unable to make it and go home with empty hands?

Having been wanting to do another episode review for some time, this installment of one of my all-time favorite sitcoms, “iCarly”, came to my mind the most among others. This episode and “iParty with Victorious” were the ones that I specificities decided to make individual reviews of because they’re both considered made-for-television movies.

I really must say, if I had to pick what my all-time favorite installment of iCarly would be, it’d be “iGo to Japan”. Everything about this special was nonstop fun!

For instance, the performances of the cast, characters, and character development were incredible! Accompanied by noticeably entertaining and snappy dialogue, it was amazing to see how into their parts the regulars and guest stars were, incorporating hilarious comedic-timings and a sense of realism to where they were worthy of an award for best ensemble cast. The chemistries between the characters, such as with Spencer and Mrs. Benson, were among my favorite parts of the special.

The direction by Steve Hoofer, and the story by Dan Schneider and Andrew Hill Newman were nicely-done as well. When it came to making this special entertaining, the production team definitely went all-out in doing so. The comedy they incorporated was hilarious, innocent, and brilliantly executed, and I can’t even recall a single that wasn’t funny. Along with that, the characters drove the special’s story perfectly, and the iCarly team’s drive and determination to make it to the ceremony and try to win, as well as their loyalty and friendship, gave the special heart. And, the concept was something that I found to be very original despite it being made for an iCarly episode.

In the end, iCarly’s “iGo to Japan” is an absolute treat, and it showcases the series at one of its very best.

So, I rate “iGo to Japan” five out of five stars.
