My TV Show Review on iCarly
What's up, peoples?
This is your friendly film, TV show, and episode reporter here with another review.
And today, for my 20th analysis on a TV show, I'm gonna be reviewing perhaps the best modern sitcom ever: "iCarly".
Here's the summary of it:
Taking place in Seattle, Washington, the series follows the misadventures of Carly Shay, Sam Puckett, and Freddie Benson, a trio of friends who do a popular webshow called iCarly. Everyday, they not only have to go through life at high school, they find themselves getting into the most unusual and hilarious of situations, many of which put their webshow in jeopardy.
The series also focuses on Carly's older brother and guardian Spencer, who often has misadventures of his own or accompanies the gang. In later episodes, they would often be accompanied by their friend Gibby.
Let me just say that there are tons of reasons for why, compared to so many other TV comedies of today, that this one is the best by far.
When it came to making a sitcom, Danielle Schneider definitely knew how to make one right! The comedy aspect of the series was all-out hilarious. Each and every gag had an astounding sense of fun, creativity, thought, and innocence that made them so well-worked, and they were executed so well that one could hardly resist laughing.
The storytelling for the series was excellent. Among the most compelling things about it was its heart, emotion, and moral, which helped balance the scales and make the series all-the-more alive. The themes that the series had about family and friendship, such as when the relationships between the characters are tested, were outstandingly well-worked, if I may add.
The music that was done by Michael Corcoran was marvelous as well. I'm not sure if I've often commented on the music of an overall sitcom before, but I really must say that Corcoran certainly knew how to get audiences engaged in the series through more than with their eyes.
Finally, the performances of the cast, the characters, and the character development were A+ amazing! Each and every cast member fit their parts like a glove, and they portrayed their characters with astounding passion and great sense of humor. They looked like they were having a lot of fun and were deeply in the moment too, which was admirable beyond compare.
The only thing I will admit is that some of the minor, guest, or supporting characters can be rather cringy and irritable. Examples being that of Nevel, Lewbert, and Nora. However, I can also understand that it was likely the intention of the show runners to make those characters irritable, really, so it's not that big of a deal.
In the end, out of all the modern day television garbage that dares to claim itself as sitcoms, "iCarly" is an exception that stands tall and hits the right note every step of the way.
So, I rate "iCarly" five out of five stars.
Stay tuned for my episode reviews of the series's television films "iGo to Japan" and "iParty with Victorious" coming at some point in the future.
