My TV Show Review on The Ant and the Aardvark
What's up, Kemosabes?
This is your friendly film, TV show, and episode reporter here with another review.
Today, for my 18th TV show analysis, I'm gonna give you guys my take of "The Ant and the Aardvark".
Here's what it's about:
In this series, a wisecracking aardvark repeatedly tries to catch and eat a erbusy ant. Every time he tries to, though, his attempts always seem to end with failure.
Having watched this series two times, recently, I figured it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and analyze it.
Let me just say that, similar to "The Inspector", this was another show from Depatie-Freleng Enterprises that was deeply enjoyable. Especially for the laughs.
The comedy aspect of the series was downright hilarious, really. The concept may not be anything new, but the show team certainly knew how to make their comedic-style as lively, visual, and fun as possible. The greatest thing about the jokes was that they were wholly innocent, even if all of them were the slapstick kind.
The series's animation was impressive as well. Similar to "The Inspector", I enjoyed the comic book visual style and feel it carried, and how the animation team was able to make great use of their budget. In this case, the animation looked good and was impressive in its own way.
Finally, the voice acting and characters were fantabulously fun. I was amazed by how John Byner was able to voice more than one character, making the voices as distinguished from one another as possible and providing perfect comedic-timings and personality for his characters. Along with that, I enjoyed the developments the aardvark often went through in each episode.
In conclusion, "The Ant and the Aardvark" is a great cartoon that I especially recommend for those who want to have something to laugh at, and it was a great way for John Byner to showcase his talents as a man of many voices and characters.
So, I rate "The Ant and the Aardvark" five out of five stars.
