A Haunting Sound from an Animal Who's Downed

To quote from the description below this video on YouTube published on September 29, 2010:

"This fox lives near our house and has interacted with our dog quite a bit, but this was definitely the craziest encounter we have seen between them. We now regularly hear that crazy bird-like scream the fox makes..."

When I saw this video for the first time, I was immediately astounded. I remembered learning that foxes are creatures that are full of surprises, but to find that they can make a loudly huge sound for such small creatures...that was something that caught me off guard.
