Spies in Disguise Trailer Review

My 5th trailer review.

Golly, it’s also my second review on a trailer promoting an animated film, especially since my first three were on live-action films and my last one was the first to be on an animated film.

Anyway, today I have decided to make my latest review on the first trailer of Blue Sky Studios’s upcoming film “Spies in Disguise”, which is also set to be the first film to be distributed by Disney since their parent company, Fox, was bought a little while back.

First, I’m gonna let you guys have a look at this:

Now, it’s onto my thoughts:

This trailer is total awesomeness!!!

Ever since I first saw this teaser, I found myself completely interested in seeing this film. It looks really fun!

I couldn’t help but laugh at the reaction Will Smith’s character had at suddenly being a pigeon and the gags used with him. I also felt astounded by the action it depicted, because it gave off an action-y feeling that I don’t think has been seen in animation since...well, probably since “The Incredibles”. The animation that the film has additionally looks absolutely splendid, like it is made to be used for a spy film. The fact that both Smith and Tom Holland are starring in this film is also something that excites me all the more, and I feel awfully excited to see it because of the rest of the film’s ensemble too, such as Karen Gillan (The Marvel Cinematic Universe and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle).

It actually occurred to me just recently that there have been little to no animated films about secret agents, really. And, in a time where the Spy genre itself seems to be becoming a bit rare with only the James Bond series to hold it up, this film looks like it’ll be something that could give new life to it, kind of like what the Pirates of the Caribbean series did for the Pirate genre itself.

All in all, in contrast to those who have given mixed or negative responses to this trailer, especially at the part where Smith’s character gets turned into a pigeon, I’m really excited to see this film soon and I think it’s going to be something totally entertaining.

What do you guys think?
